Shark INCIDENT at Trigg Beach, Perth Metro
17 July 2024The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is currently coordinating the response for a shark incident at Trigg Beach, Perth Metro in the City of Stirling.
Situation:
- A male surfer was bitten by a reported unknown species of shark at approximately 5:35 pm. The shark is assumed to be small in size.
What to do:
- Take note of any signage posted and exercise additional caution in the Trigg Beach area.
- Use your Sea Sense and stay informed by checking for shark activity on the SharkSmart website, SharkSmart WA app or Surf Life Saving WA’s Twitter feed.
- If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600. All shark sighting information reported to Water Police is provided to land managers and relevant authorities and to the public on the SharkSmart website, SharkSmart WA app and Surf Life Saving WA Twitter feed.

DPIRD is working with local authorities to coordinate responses.
