DPIRD recommends additional caution in the Meelup Beach area after a tagged white shark has continued to be detected between 30 December 2020 and 5 January 2021.
It is possible that the frequency and duration of the recent detections may increase the likelihood of encountering a shark in the area.
Water users are urged to adhere to local beach closures advised by Local Government Rangers and Surf Life Saving WA.
Switch on your Sea Sense and stay informed of shark activity information by checking the SharkSmart website, download the SharkSmart WA app or follow Surf Life Saving WA Twitter.
