The technical fault impacting the automatic posting of reported shark sightings to Surf Life Saving WA’s Twitter feed has been resolved. The Shark Notification System is fully operational again.

Rangers from the City of Mandurah have reopened beaches in the Florida Beach area, following a reported shark interaction on Sunday 6 March.

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) recommend additional caution in the Florida Beach area.

• Ocean users are urged to put safety first and avoid large schools of fish
• Salmon aggregations can attract sharks closer to shore

DPIRD (Fisheries) have been advised that the dolphin carcass at Albany Waterfront Marina has now been removed.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from the carcass may still attract sharks to the area.
