A shark WARNING has been issued for Falcon Bay Mandurah after a possible interaction with a shark was reported this morning.

A shark ADVICE has been issued for Western Australian water users due to a partial outage in the Clever Buoy near-shore shark detection system which is currently being trialled at City Beach.

Updated 22/02: The partial outage has been resolved and the system is now fully operational.

Updated 21/02:

• The south side of the Clever Buoy installation at City Beach remains offline and sonar detections from that part of the system are not currently operational. 
• The north side of the Clever Buoy installation is now fully operational.
• System operators, continue working to restore the Clever Buoy trial to full operational status.

The sytem operators have advised that the Clever Buoy shark detection trial at City Beach is now fully operational again after this morning's partial outage.

A shark WARNING has been issued for Port Kennedy to Waikiki Beach, Warnbro in the City of Rockingham after an increased number of reported shark detections.

This morning’s partial outage in the shark notification system, affecting the automatic notification of tagged shark detections, has now been rectified and the network is fully restored.

The Clever Buoy system is currently in the process of being installed at City Beach.  Inclement weather and operational challenges has constrained the installation program and final calibrations.

Update: 3.15pm, 21 December 2016
Fisheries advise that the 2.km off Mullaloo Shark Monitoring Network satellite-linked receiver is back online. The network is now fully operational.
