Update on 28 September at 10.30am:

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has re-opened the area from North Point to Lefthanders surfing spot from 10.00am today. 

Alert issued 26 September:

Alert level:
A shark WARNING has been issued for North Point near Gracetown after an interaction with a shark was reported at 6.45pm on 25 September 2017. The interaction reportedly occurred at 5.50pm.

Alert level:
A shark WARNING has been issued for Wylie Bay east of Esperance following two reported sightings of white sharks near Kelp beds.

A shark warning has been issued for Sams Creek after an interaction with a shark was reported.

The incident occurred on Sunday 10 September and was reported to authorities on Monday 11 September.

Update on 12 September at 4.45pm:

The whale carcass reported  on the beach near Admiralty Crescent at Halls Head in Mandurah has now been removed.

Caution is still advised as any residue from where the carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Alert issued 11 September:

Alert level:
A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being washed ashore near Admiralty Crescent at Halls Head in Mandurah.

Alert level:
A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at James Service reef approximately 8 kilometres offshore west of Singleton.

Alert level:
A shark ADVICE has been issued, due to a whale carcass being reported at Little Long Point near Walpole.

Update on 29 August at 12.10pm:
Since 24 August in the waters of the Metropolitan beaches between Leighton and Scarborough.

• Three white sharks have been detected a total of 49 times
• There has been 4 sightings of unknown species of sharks

The shark warning for the waters from Leighton Beach to Sorrento Beach remains in place and water users are reminded to take extra caution in the Perth Metropolitan waters.

Alert issued 23 August:

Alert level:
A shark WARNING has been issued for the area from Leighton Beach to Sorrento Beach in the Perth Metropolitan area after a reported white shark sighting, and a series of tagged white shark detections over the last seven days.

Alert level:
A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Dead Finish Anchorage, Flinders Bay near Augusta.

A shark WARNING has been issued for the area from Leighton to Sorrento Beach in the Perth metropolitan area after a series of white shark detections

Update on 2 August at 4.00pm:

The whale carcass reported  on the beach 1km south of the Yanchep town site has now been removed.

Caution is still advised as any residue from where the carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Alert issued 1 August:

Alert level:
A shark ADVICE has been issued, due to a whale carcass being reported on the beach approximately one kilometre south of the southern end of the Yanchep town site.
