Officers from the City of Wanneroo have now removed the whale carcass from Sovereign Park, north of Two Rocks. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Officers from the Shire of Irwin have now removed the whale carcass from Ten Mile Beach, near Dongara. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Officers from the City of Mandurah have inspected the area where the injured whale was located near Avalon Point Surf Break and the Dawesville Channel, south of Mandurah and have advised that it is no longer in place.

The beach has been reopened and shark warning signs have been removed by the City of Mandurah.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have successfully removed the dolphin carcasses from Surfers Cove near Black Point in the Shire of Nannup.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Officers from the Shire of Northampton have inspected the area where the injured whale was located at Jakes Corner and have advised that it is no longer in place.

The beach has been reopened and shark warning signs have been removed by the Shire of Northampton.

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is currently coordinating the response for a shark incident at Trigg Beach, Perth Metro in the City of Stirling.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to the presence of a large amount of fish offal alongside the service jetty in the Albany Waterfront Marina.

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have inspected the whale which has since deceased. The carcass will remain in place at Whalebone Point, east of Bremer Bay. 

Shark warning signs are in place in the area.

Situation:

• A male was spearfishing when he was bitten by an unknown species of shark at Fourteen Mile Camp Beach which was reported at 11:18 am on 8 July 2024.
