A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a residue from a removed whale carcass at Whiting Pool in Horrocks, in the Shire of Northampton.
Update on 29 August at 2.05pm
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions staff have now removed the carcass of a killer whale from Hamelin Bay, north of the boat ramp.
Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.
Water users should adhere to beach closures advised by local government rangers and check the SharkSmart Activity Map or the Surf Life Saving Twitter feed before heading to their local beaches.

A shark WARNING has been issued for the Injidup Beach to Smiths Beach area, in the City of Busselton, after an interaction with a shark at Indicator Rock, north of Canal Rocks, on the afternoon of Sunday 19 August. A member of the public has reported an interaction with a shark in this area while operating a kayak. No injuries occurred during this interaction. The report was received today (22 August).

Parks and Wildlife Service Officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have resolved the whale stranding incident at Wylie Bay Beach, with a humpback whale carcass removed from the area.

The Shire of Capel has removed the whale carcass from Peppermint Grove Beach, near Capel.
Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as any residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.
