Update on 24 September at 7:25am  

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) have advised that the whale carcass located at Sugarloaf Rock, Cape Naturaliste is no longer in place.

DBCA have removed shark warning signs. 

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as residue from where the whale carcass was beached may still attract sharks to the area.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Circus Beach in the Shire of Manjimup. 

Update on 18 September at 9:05am  

Parks and Wildlife Service officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions have inspected the whale carcass which remains in place at Warren Beach near Windy Harbour.  

Additional caution is recommended by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, as the slowly decomposing whale carcass may attract sharks to the area.

Alert level:

A shark ADVICE has been issued due to a whale carcass being reported at Alexander Bay in the Shire of Esperance. 

Update on 8 September at 7:45pm 

Scheduled maintenance of the Shark Monitoring Network has now been completed. The network is fully operational.

Services have been restored to the West Beach Shark Monitoring Network receiver.  The network is now fully operational.

A shark WARNING has been issued for Perth metropolitan waters after an increased number of tagged shark detections.

Services have been restored to the Cowaramup Bay (north) and Cowaramup Bay (south) Shark Monitoring Network receivers. The network is now fully operational.
